Grand Opening of the International Archive of Dreams: A floating museum in Mile End

Updated: Dec 24, 2020

The International Archive of Dreams held their grand opening of their boat museum in Mile End on Sunday 13th May. More details of the archives and their museum here.

Dr Josie Malinowski, dream psychologist based at the University of East London, gave a talk about lucid dreaming which included details about my favourite dream supplement, galantamine! I recommend her article on how thought suppression affects dreams: 'Why do we dream? The verdict on Freud's theory' (The Independent). You can read her most recent academic paper which expounds on this idea, 'High Thought Suppressors Dream More of Their Waking Life Experiences Than Low Thought Suppressors', and many more here.

Besides Dr Malinowski's talk there was live music, creative dream reenactments, wine, fabulous dreamers to chat with and of course the museum itself. Only two people are allowed in at a time, as it's on a houseboat full of weird-and-wonderful dream-related objets d'art, information on dreams and dream reports! The museum will only be open for the next three months, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm. (Other viewings can be arranged, please see notice at the top of this post)
